Privacy notice

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads no tracking scripts. The only information we hold about you is what you send us, or what was publicly listed when we wrote to you.

Who we are

Genesis 8 is an independent product studio that builds cookbooks and digital products together with food creators. It is operated from Israel by its founder and works with creators internationally. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Write to lucasszkliarski@genesis-8.com for anything on this page; we will give you a postal address on request.

What this website collects

Nothing, directly. There are no cookies, no analytics, no advertising or social pixels, no session recording and no third-party scripts. We cannot tell who has visited this page.

Two things still involve someone else:

• Typefaces. The page requests its fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). That request tells Google your IP address and basic browser information. We receive none of it. If those requests are blocked, the page falls back to the fonts already on your device and still works.
• Hosting. Our host keeps ordinary server logs, which include IP addresses, to deliver the site and to defend it against abuse. We do not use those logs for marketing and do not connect them to any person.

If you email us

We keep your message, your email address and anything you choose to put in it, so that we can reply and — if we end up working together — run the project. Our email runs on Google Workspace, and outreach conversations are managed in Smartlead. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us, and, once a project starts, performance of our agreement with you. We keep correspondence while we are in contact and for a reasonable period afterwards, and we delete it sooner if you ask.

If we emailed you first

We write to a small number of creators and businesses at addresses that are publicly listed for business contact, because we believe a specific product idea is relevant to them. We do not buy lists, we do not scrape at scale, and we do not send bulk mail. Every message says who we are and how to stop hearing from us. One reply asking us to stop is enough: we remove the address and do not write again.

Where UK or EU data protection law applies, the lawful basis is our legitimate interest in business-to-business outreach, balanced against your interest in not being disturbed — which is why the volume is small, the message is specific and the opt-out is immediate. Where US law applies, our messages carry a working opt-out and a valid postal address, as CAN-SPAM requires.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. If you are in California, you may ask what we have collected, ask us to delete or correct it, and opt out of any sale or sharing of it — we do not sell or share personal information, we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not process sensitive personal information. Exercising any of these rights costs nothing and will never count against you.

Ask by email and we will answer within 30 days. If you are in the EU or the UK and you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your national data protection authority.

Where your data goes

We work from Israel, and our email and outreach providers operate in the United States and the European Union. Where EU or UK data protection law applies to a transfer, we rely on the relevant adequacy decision or on standard contractual clauses put in place by the provider.

Children

This site and our service are meant for adults running a business or a creator account. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes

If this notice changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date. Material changes will be described at the top.
